The Power of Prayer

Prayer is one of the most powerful ways we can enter into a deeper state
of consciousness and receive divine grace. There are five main types of
prayers...
1. Prayers
of Petition - A prayer of petition is the most common type of
prayer. It is when we ask God for things that we need: spiritual,
physical, or emotional. Our prayers of Petition should always include a
statement of willingness to surrender and accept an outcome for our
greater good.
2. Prayers
of Thanksgiving - We pray to express our gratitude; to thank God for
all the good things that happen to us and others. This is a powerful way
to begin and end the day.
3. Prayers
of Admission - This prayer serves to acknowledge the mistakes we
have made or any wrongs we have taken against ourselves and others. We
seek forgiveness for our actions. Because we are always working toward
becoming our best self, it is crucial to witness our faults and make
amends in the physical and spiritual realms.
4. Prayers
of Meditation - During this prayer we rest in the presence of
Spirit: listening, reflecting, and centering our souls. We rest in the
grace of God with an open heart ready to receive divine guidance and
blessings.
5. Prayers of Adoration - Prayers of adoration are a love song to
God: love for our life, love for others, and love for the holy spirit.
In this sacred space we are enveloped by God's presence. There is no
fear or worry - only love. It is often a holy moment when the power of
God can be felt moving through our eternal soul and time stands still.
It is an experience not of this world.
We are not merely flesh and bone; but heavenly beings just visiting
Earth temporarily. Connecting to the divine through prayer is a powerful
way to recharge and renew your spirit. Take time everyday to give and
receive light...your life will change!
Prayers
of Power
Let
Nothing Disturb You
Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things.
Whoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone suffices.
- St. Teresa of Avila
The Pray for Others
I affirm the highest and best outcome for all.
My heart is filled with love as I pray for my family and friends and as
I pray for those whose lives may be culturally different from my own.
Whether I know someone personally or not, I am filled with compassion as
I pray for anyone facing a difficult life situation.
Rather than focus my attention on external impressions, I center my
prayers on the powerful presence of God within each person. I affirm
that everyone has within them the goodness of God's love and the
guidance of divine wisdom and good judgment.
I gratefully acknowledge that divine direction and support are available
to everyone. I pray and affirm the highest and best outcome for all.
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom,
the power and the glory are yours.
Now and for ever.
Amen.
Lovingkindness Prayer
May I be free from fear. May I be free from suffering.
May I be happy. May I be filled with loving kindness.
May you be free from fear. May you be free from suffering.
May you be happy. May you be filled with loving kindness.
May all people everywhere be happy and filled with loving kindness.
Prayer for Peace
May all beings everywhere plagued with sufferings of body and mind
quickly be freed from their illnesses.
May those frightened cease to be afraid,
and may those bound be free.
May the powerless find power,
and may people think of befriending one another.
May those who find themselves in trackless, fearful wildernesses - the
children, the aged, the unprotected - be guarded by beneficent
celestials, and may they swiftly attain Peace.
Prayer of Love
Oneness of Life and Light,
Entrusting in your Great Compassion,
May you shed the foolishness in myself,
Transforming me into a conduit of Love.
May I be a medicine for the sick and weary,
Nursing their afflictions until they are cured;
May I become food and drink,
During time of famine,
May I protect the helpless and the poor,
May I be a lamp,
For those who need your Light,
May I be a bed for those who need rest,
and guide all seekers to the Other Shore.
May all find happiness through my actions,
and let no one suffer because of me.
Whether they love or hate me,
Whether they hurt or wrong me,
May they all realize true entrusting,
Through Other Power,
and realize Supreme Nirvana.

A
Prayer for Blessed Service
Dear God, let your will for me be known.
Use me, oh God, as your creation.
When a kind word needs to be spoken, use my voice.
When a load needs to be lifted, use my back.
When a hug needs to be given, use my arms.
When a journey needs to be taken, use my feet.
When a message needs to be delivered, use my mind.
When a friend needs to be loved, use my heart.
In all things, in all ways, use me God, as your instrument of love,
faith, peace and tranquility.
A
Prayer for Blessed Grace
Dear God, I hold your grace within me.
I call upon grace to mend hearts I have hurt,
to light my way in the darkness,
to let go of my sorrows and regrets,
and to bless those who I have known and will meet upon my journey. Grace
flows freely and fully through me by the power and grace of God. God, I
accept your loving gift of grace,
your peace of heaven on earth for me.
A Prayer for Blessed
Healing
Dear God, your loving arms hold me now, filling me with the grace of
Spirit. Wash away my pain, take away my fear,
let my past be complete in this moment.
Through your grace, I step forward in the present,
not letting past pain guide my actions and choices.
I choose grace, full and abundant, to guide my life.
I accept your love, healing and renewing, to change my heart.
I accept light, wisdom in its entirety, to bless my existence.
I am whole in your eyes.
I accept your vision as my own.
A Prayer for Blessed
Power
Dear God, your power is my own.
Your wisdom is my own.
Your faith is my own.
Your strength is my own.
I am a blessed child of God, full of your infinite love and peace.
I accept your blessings,
your gift of life to become the light of God dwelling in human form.
I accept your power to live in harmony
by letting my inner heart guide my outer actions.
Upon the will and light of Spirit, and so it is.
A Prayer for Blessed
Wholeness
Dear God, you have blessed me with an amazing body through which I
can experience life. I accept that my body is changing everyday,
adapting to new circumstances so that I can live
in a state of health and wholeness.
I release my preconceived notions about what a normal body should look
like. I accept that normal encompasses all body realities.
I accept the power of my body to heal.
I love my body, just as God loves me completely.
And so it is.
A Prayer for Blessed
Relationship
Dear God, I hold your power of creation within.
As you love me unconditionally, I may love another.
As you allow me free will, I choose to create a spiritual union with
another. I am whole and equal in my spiritual union.
I seek divine wisdom to guide my choices and actions,
always searching for the higher truth to elevate my relationship.
And so it is.
A Prayer for Blessed
Forgiveness
Dear God, my heart is heavy with past burdens.
I look to your light to guide me to peace in my heart.
In this place of harmony, I remember my love for others.
In love, I know that the peace of God exists in all people.
I see your love and light in myself and in those who have hurt me.
I let God's healing love wash this pain from my heart.
I forgive myself and others, knowing that God holds forgiveness for all
beings. Thank you, God, for blessing me with your grace.
A Prayer for Blessed
Compassion
Dear God, I hold your power and strength in this moment to love all
who have hurt me. Right now, I choose to let love flow from my heart and
wash away my pain and fears. God, you love me no matter what I do.
I extend that love to those who have hurt me.
I choose to recognize the wholeness dwelling within these friends.
In compassion and love,
I hold high their potential when my friends
may not see their own greatness dwelling within.
I recognize that with your love,
they are capable of more than they are demonstrating in this moment. As
your creation God, I too have hurt others and not shown my true
greatness in all situations. Through your love for me God, I extend this
love to my friends.
A Prayer for Blessed
Acceptance
Dear God, in this moment I hold your acceptance.
You love me completely, just as I am.
You see my great potential within,
and you nurture my tender heart of compassion.
In this moment, I let your acceptance be my own.
I accept others as the children of God.
I hold high their inner greatness,
always seeking to serve the highest and best within all people.
And so it is.
A Prayer for Thanksgiving
I am so blessed by the bounty of God’s everlasting harvest.
In the earth, I bury the seeds of my pain, growing new possibilities.
In the air, I let the breath of Spirit renew my soul with love and hope.
In the water, I flow with the power of God’s faith to where I am needed.
In the fire, I release the old and arise from the ashes anew. Earth,
air, water and fire: God’s building blocks bless my every moment.
A Prayer for Remembering
I remember who I am.
I use my power for peace.
I am blessed with spiritual vision.
I accept my inner truth.
I act in good faith.
I see love in all things.
When I remember, I create heaven here and now.
A Prayer for Divine
Service
As Spirit shines through my heart,
I illuminate this moment with you.
As Spirit teaches me about love,
I share my lessons with you.
As Spirit holds me close,
I embrace you.
As Spirit whispers in my ear,
I talk with you.
As Spirit uses my hands,
I reach out to you.
Let God work through me.
Let God touch the world through me.
Let God live through me.
A Prayer for Blessed Joy
My heart is bursting with joy in this moment.
When I feel the glory of God beside me, I feel blessed.
When I see the wonder of God’s creations, I feel loved.
When I hear the sound of God’s whisper in my ear, I slow down.
When I know how close I am to God, I stop the world.
In this place of silence, I listen and hear my heart beat.
In each beat, I sense the tenderness that went into creating me.
In that delicate fabric of life, I feel honored to be here upon this
earth. In that honor of all living things, I look to my brothers and
sisters. My dear friends, I see the same cloth in you.
I see the same love, patience and kindness dwelling within you.
I now know that we are one and the same creation of God.
Knowing this, I lay down my judgments and embrace you in love.
For I let the same love God created in me touch the same love in you. In
love, in peace, we embrace as one.
